Get to Know Mrs. Gordon

Hi! This is Mrs. Gordon, I am a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University where I received a Bachelor of Music Education with an Instrumental Emphasis. I was a band director for two years in Godley ISD. While teaching in Godley, I founded the Godley Jazz Band, re-established the Godley HS Choir, and directed the Intermediate School Beginning Band. Also, I taught private piano and saxophone for the past seven years.
I began my music journey in private piano lessons at the age of six. From there, my love for music took off. I added singing and saxophone in middle school and successfully competed in all three areas throughout my high school and collegiate education.
I am currently using my music as a service to my church where I accompany, sing, and work with the primary choir. I am thrilled to be joining the Jones Academy Fine Arts team as the Piano Teacher.
“My love and dedication to music has given me a drive and work ethic that has allowed for many successes. I owe this to my parents who decided at an early age that I needed piano. Piano is where it all starts and I believe it is a solid foundation for one’s growth and development of all academics.”
